I was wondering if the iTunes New Music Samplers are still available. These are the links:

I can add the albums to the iTunes shopping cart, but when I try to download them, I get an error message saying the items are no longer available. Other people have told me the same thing when they try to download them.

Ted said...: You don't see any little iTunes buttons? Hmmm. What browser and what OS are you using?

The iTunes links use images hosted by Apple and I know that Firefox blocks images not from the originating site. If you're using Firefox, select menu Tools > Options > Web Features and make sure "Load Images" is selected and "for the originating web site only" is unselected.

I was trying to click the images of the buttons at the very top (which don't link anywhere). Once i realized the actual buttons were further down, i found out they do work. Ted said...: So ruby, you're from the UK? Mac Forums has this thread that tracks the free weekly songs in the iTunes Music Store with a UK section. But Apple only gives you a few free songs at a time. That's why I prefer mp3's.

There are many legal sites to get mp3's. You didn't say what kind of music you like, but these are a few of my favorite sites:

The Arrogants - One of my fave bands. I made a post about them, they're offering 2 of their previous albums and select songs from their newest album for free download. Just right-click and save-as the "music" links.

Amazon.com - Tonnes (UK spelling?) of free mp3's. Free registration required to download. I think you'll be able to access it. I didn't see a free music download section on Amazon.co.uk. Don't forget to use the browse links on the left.

Download.com - Not all artists offer free downloads here but the ones that do are pretty good. Check the download charts at the bottom of the front page.

Links to Tens of Thousands of Legal Music Downloads - This page has links to sites that point to more free music than any sane person can download. If you visit this site, prepare to never sleep again.
